Situated at the Zhuwei Fishing Harbor Square, "Building Blue" is a transparent cubic volume constructed from a steel pipe framework. The structure is enveloped in a sophisticated array of metal discs in five meticulously curated shades of blue. Arranged in a delicate "fish-scale" sequence, these elements deconstruct and reassemble the vast, ephemeral palette of the ocean into a tangible architectural skin.
The installation thrives on its interaction with natural and artificial light. During the day, the metallic surfaces capture and refract sunlight, creating a shimmering brilliance that mirrors the rhythmic undulations of the waves and the kinetic energy of schooling fish. As night falls, integrated fishing lamps radiate from the core, casting intricate, layered shadows that transform the surrounding ground into a canvas of light.
