Whom does the sunset belong to?
ITO TOSHIMITSU
A pair of giant male and female figures gaze out toward the sea. Using materials such as natural stone, driftwood, and abandoned boats—each collected from the nearby Pearl Coastline—the work seeks to bring forth these colossal beings who contemplate the ocean.
Through their presence, the sculpture becomes a medium that offers viewers, including myself, an opportunity to reconsider the beauty of the sunset and to reflect on the meaning of its existence.
