Immense Landscapes: The Triple Harmony Sanctuary

Taoyuan is historically renowned as the "Land of a Thousand Ponds." This ancestral irrigation system, where settlements co-maintained water resources, shaped a profound symbiosis between humanity and nature. Drawing from this historical context, "Infinite Currents, Tri-Union Realm" serves as a spiritual response to the intricate bond between folk culture and the natural environment.

Inspired by the traditional Sanheyuan (three-sided courtyard), the installation manifests as a surreal "San-He Garden" that fuses wetland and hillside topographies. Central to the work is a fully kinetic wind-driven system; architectural tiles, walls, and waterfalls are deconstructed into steel components that shimmer and sway with the breeze, creating a dreamlike interplay of light and shadow. A central waterfall weaves through the structures into a lower pool, symbolizing the eternal cycle of landscapes. Below, a rotating cabbage apparatus signifies agricultural production and irrigation, illustrating the intertwining of nature and settlement life.

Hovering above is a monumental kinetic lantern, evoking festive blessings and the cultural identity of Hakka Indigo Dyeing. This blue texture is translated into the installation’s skin, marking the traces of daily labor. On the periphery, kitchen and agricultural utensils are repurposed into wind-driven elements, echoing the intimate tie between the land and the home. Enveloped by a bamboo grove, the work utilizes industrial materials to complement the natural environment, seeking a higher level of harmony and prosperity in the contemporary age.
