Full Sail Homecoming
Jiang, Xian-Ming
Inspired by the rising sails of Yong-an Fishing Port, the rhythmic ripples of the sea, and Xinwu’s iconic century-old stone weirs, the artwork features a 'square exterior and circular interior' structure. This design evokes the Chinese character '回' (Return), signifying the dual themes of coming home and returning to port. The full, arched curves of the twin sails symbolize the joy of a bountiful harvest while offering blessings for the safe return of fishermen. Furthermore, the marble-gray textures echo the interplay of light on the water and the rugged surfaces of the stone weirs, ensuring the piece exists in harmony with the ecological landscape of Taoyuan’s Pearl Coast.
