The stone weir, a traditional fishing method that is developed in accordance with natural conditions, has long embodied the relationship between humans and the sea. Through the rhythm of the ebb and flow, the stone weir displays the life’s wisdom in coexistence, harmony, and enduring cycles.
Organized by Taoyuan Land Art Festival, the work is inspired by the traditional fishing method of the “stone weir” on the coast of Taoyuan. It reveals the tidal rhythms—like the rise and fall of breath, circulation, and fluidity. The double spiral structure forms two opposite entrances, guiding viewers to keep moving through the space and forming a circulatory walking experience. Woven with bamboo, the work blurs the boundary between inside and outside, inviting viewers to sense the harmonious relationship between humans and natural rhythms.
