The title of the artwork is a playful reinterpretation of the Chinese idiom “珠聯璧合 (Zhū Lián Bì Hé),” transforming its pronunciation into a poetic connection between Taoyuan’s iconic black pig and lotus ponds. By juxtaposing the rounded, rustic character of the locally raised black pig with the elegance and ecological symbolism of the lotus landscape, the work creates a contemporary reflection on Taoyuan’s rural identity and cultural memory. Together, these elements portray a living microcosm where daily life, agricultural production, and ecological systems coexist in harmony.

The installation primarily employs woven straw and natural materials as its visual language. Through layers of weaving, openings, and structural textures, sunlight and wind are allowed to pass through the piece, generating constantly shifting patterns of light and shadow. As visitors move around and within the installation, they experience a rhythm reminiscent of rural fields and wetlands, reconnecting with the slower temporalities of agricultural life.
