Lines Waiting for the Wind

Iyo Kacaw

Feel the power bestowed by nature, flying under the guidance of the wind to make the journey of migration swifter. Migratory birds are travelers that follow the rhythm of the wind; it is the wind that grants them the strength for their long-distance treks. The songs drifting on the breeze herald the arrival of migratory birds at their new habitat. Those who understand the power of the wind will all reach their destination successfully.

Iyo Kacaw

Iyo Kacaw was born in Makota’ay, a harbor tribe on the east coast. Since childhood, he enjoyed listening to elders telling stories and learned the life wisdom and cultural spirit of the Pangcah (Amis), cultivating gratitude and reverence for nature.

Iyo Kacaw has long been aware of the damage caused by humans to the natural environment and has continued to reflect his inner state in his creations. Through frequent scuba diving and dialogue with the ocean, he has persistently spoken up on marine environmental issues in his creations, attracting significant attention at home and abroad. In 2018, he won first prize in the International Forest Sculpture Festival, Belgium.
