Wuwei•Flowing Waters
Bo-Chun Lee
Wuwei • Flowing Waters draws inspiration from the landscape of Guanyin’s lotus fields and traditional Hakka floral fabrics. It transforms the intricate patterns of the floral cloth into a fluid, bamboo-structured space, integrating community leisure functions with a bamboo-woven landscape inspired by the "Nine-Turn Stream" (Jiuqu Water).
Constructed from Moso bamboo and bamboo weaving, the work unfolds in layers reminiscent of lotus leaves and rippling water, with light and shadow shifting alongside the sun’s movement. The individual bamboo-woven units were completed through community co-creation, gathering the memories of residents and local culture to shape a collective landscape belonging to Wuwei.
