INTERTIDAL THEATRE: THE LISTENING SHELL
Daisuke Nagatomo、Minnie Jan
Intertidal Theatre: The Listening Shell centers on “listening to nature,” transforming the form of a seashell into an inhabitable spiral installation situated in Houhu Creek Ecological Park. Through an upward-facing opening, visitors are offered a framed piece of sky, encouraging a shift in perception and a renewed way of seeing and sensing the environment.

Centered on the principles of sustainability, digital fabrication, and human-centered thinking, the team transforms the integration of materials, technology, and culture into spatial experiences with a contemporary language.
Our practice goes beyond form and aesthetics, focusing on how design can respond to the environment, society, and the needs of future cities. From small-scale products and exhibition installations to medium- and large-scale spaces and public environments, MisoSoupDesign continuously develops strategic and narrative-driven design approaches through a cross-scalar and cross-cultural perspective.
Through collaboration with professionals from diverse fields, the team has established a flexible and open creative model that interweaves innovative technology, local culture, and sustainable thinking.
